Lines of Symmetry in Adinkra and Everyday Designs
Look at a kente strip, an Adinkra stamp, the Ghana flag or the letter H: they all look the same on both sides of an invisible middle line. In this lesson you will learn to find that line, count the lines in different shapes and use symmetry to understand reflection, which you will draw on a grid in the next lessons.

Plotting Points and Reflecting Shapes on the Coordinate Plane
A coordinate plane lets you give every point on a page an exact address, just like a house number and street. In this lesson you will plot points and shapes, reflect them in the axes and in lines such as x = 3, y = x and y = −x, and discover the simple coordinate rules that let you find an image without drawing.

Translating Points and Shapes by a Vector
When a trotro drives straight down the road, when you slide down a playground slide or push a drawer closed, everything moves along together without turning. That is a translation. In this lesson you will describe translations with column vectors, draw images on a coordinate plane and find the vector that moved a shape.

Congruent and Similar Shapes in Patterns and Designs
Two kente strips cut from the same pattern, a passport photo and its big framed copy, a school plan and the real school: some pairs of shapes are exactly the same, others are the same shape but a different size. This lesson teaches you to tell congruent shapes from similar shapes and to prove it using coordinates, lengths and angles.
